The 16 Billerica Memorial High School seniors who comprise teacher Matt Flood’s engineering design class have their eyes to the sky. Early in June they will launch a balloon 6 feet in diameter, and hope they have prepared it to fly into outer space. Their predecessors in the 2015 class were able to send their high altitude balloon over 88,000 feet into the sky, and this year the goal is to achieve 100,000 feet.
