Thomas Murphy, principal of Billerica Memorial High School, announced that Madhumathi Sekar was named among approximately 16,000 semifinalists nationwide in the 63rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program, and will continue on to compete for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million, in the spring of 2018.To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.
